Togetsutei Hotel - Kyoto

Had a great Christmas stay at this traditional Japanese inn. Loved the option to rent a private bathing area for families or those uncomfortable with public baths. The in-room breakfast was a fantastic experience, with the staff accommodating our early morning train schedule. The hotel's location near famous attractions and shops was a major plus.

The rooms were in need of renovation and felt overpriced. The food was average at best, and the language barrier made it difficult to understand each dish.

We greatly enjoyed the fact that we chose togetsutei. The staff was kindly - we would love to come back here some time. Good base for a weekend in Kyoto...

Excellent Japanese cuisine, cozy atmosphere, and stunning views. the authentic Japanese cuisine served here is outstanding, and worth the cost. the location is ideal for sightseeing, being a short distance from popular attractions. the cozy atmosphere is perfect for relaxation and enjoying the stunning views from the hot springs.

Basic room amenities, and some staff were not fluent in English. the room amenities were limited, and at times not up to par with the cost of the stay.
